Janice Barbour Moss
Along with her husband, Janice built a lakeside home near Calabogie, ON where they live today. The tranquil lifestyle they enjoy has afforded Janice the time to begin writing fiction and poetry.
In 2022 she published her first novel, “The Nest." She was commissioned by The School of Dance (Ottawa) to compose a poem, titled "Time Now" for their Hands of Time project, funded through a Federal grant. This was followed by the release of her second novel "The Caged" later that same year. The release of the third book about the characters of Herman and Jayce, "The Resolve" is scheduled for release in September 2023. Meanwhile she collaborated with Brenda McMorland as illustrator to create a picture book, "The Journey of Budgie Boy Blue" which is designed for early readers or to be read to children aged 4 to 6 years. It was published in May 2023.
In January 2023, Janice was nominated as Author of the Year and "The Caged" was nominated as Best New Book of the Year in the 2023 Ottawa Awards. Her poem titled "Her Chance to Dance" is being published in the Syncopation Literary Journal in the Summer/Fall special issue of 2023.
Janice dedicates her author royalty proceeds in support of various registered charities, including Parrot Partners Canada, The School of Dance (Ottawa), and the Renfrew Victoria Hospital Foundation.
